Application service provider Xspeedium.com has announced that it has launched a new Web trading exchange supported by an IBM solution that includes RS/6000 servers, Domino R5 application development software and IBM Global Services expertise. Launched on March 20, the Web site acts as a marketplace for companies to buy and sell products online.

Percussion Software announced the upgrade of Rhythmyx, a native XML Application Server. Rhythmyx 1.1 combines a graphical interface with Web server technologies such as XML and Java.

IBM announced SNAPP, a Web-based application that allows customers to configure and manage an RS/6000 B50 server with handheld computers based on the Palm Computing platform.

Active Voice Corporation announced immediate availability of its unified messaging solution for the Lotus Domino server and Lotus Notes client market. The announcement follows the finalization of the company’s acquisition of PhoneSoft on March 31.

ZDNet has this report on Microsoft’s reaction to Judge Jackson’s ruling in its antitrust case. Microsoft said it would appeal a judge’s ruling that the company violated U.S. antitrust law.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson ruled in his "conclusions of law" yesterday that Microsoft broke antitrust laws. News.com reports that the verdict is the second step of a three-stage process. In November, Jackson issued what he considered the facts in the case. The conclusions of law decision applied those facts to antitrust laws. As early as this summer, Jackson is expected to issue a final ruling that will include the remedies or penalties to be imposed on Microsoft.

Odyssey Software released Version 3.1 of its CEfusion data access tools and infrastructure for devices powered by Microsoft Windows CE. CEfusion 3.1 supports Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes data, as well as other non-relational data stores.
