New TurboGold pricing model

Stampede Technologies announced a new pricing model for its TurboGold product family for Lotus Notes. The new pricing breaks out the Client, Standard and Advanced Server licenses. TurboGold clients now can be ordered separately at a lower cost per seat. TurboGold servers can also be ordered separately allowing customers to mix and match Stampede’s Windows NT, AS/400 and RS/6000 (AIX) server software.

Wingra’s NetJunction 5.0

Wingra Technologies announced NetJunction 5.0. NetJunction is designed for the HP-UX platform, and provides messaging and directory connectivity to local area network and host-based email and groupware systems. New features include NT-based access units for Lotus cc:Mail and Novell GroupWise, an Access Unit Monitor, and support for Lotus Notes version 5.0. NetJunction 5.0 will be available before June 30, 2000.

Norstan deal

Norstan has entered into an agreement with Lotus and AVT Corporation to offer unified messaging solutions to customers. The solutions include Lotus Domino Release 5 server, Lotus Notes Release 5 client and CallXpress.

New software for online surveys

SolutionPlanet Ltd is re-introducing a bit of software that facilitates online surveys. It’s called planet.Q&A, and it’s developed for the Lotus Domino server (version 4.6 or 5.0). The software allows you to create, manage, and follow up on surveys entirely from the Web-client.

Papirus expanding to new platforms

Sharing Technologies is expanding its Papirus for Domino products to IBM’s AS/400, S/390, and RS/6000 platforms. Papirus is client/server software that’s integrated with Lotus Notes and Domino that lets users capture information in any application format. Right now, it’s available for servers running Windows NT, but they say Papirus will be available for IBM server platforms later this year.

Lotus Notes 1999 winner

Messaging Online reports that in the 1999 sales race against Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes came out ahead. Lotus grew its Notes installed base by 8.5 million seats last quarter, while Microsoft’s Exchange gained only 5.5 million seats.

PowerBoards upgraded

We’ve completed an upgrade to the PowerBoards that should make them substantially faster. It also appears we’ve fixed the "Check Messages" bug, so you can now look at only the new messages you haven’t seen. This new version of software (WebCrossing 3.1 from WebCrossing, Inc.) has a load of new features that we expect to enable over the next few months. Johnson Consulting and ComAxis Technology announced the release of csAccess. csAccess is a Windows 9x/NT utility for converting CompuServe WINCIM folders into various formats. Priced at $14.99 for a single user, csAccess gives CompuServe users an alternative for migrating their mail to other systems, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange, Novell Groupwise, and MIME based mail systems.
