New CRM application

Para Research announce a new CRM application called Profile. Profile includes sales and marketing components, customer service, and help desk capabilities. These functions are integrated into one solution for AS/400, NT or Windows 2000 servers and require no additional databases.

Vikara Group, IBM

The Vikara Group announced its new joint offering with IBM. Vikara has developed a version of its CRM software, v-TEAM, to run on IBM’s AS/400 multi-user business computer. Both Vikara and IBM will market and implement the combined solution.

XML in GroupWise

PC Week reports that Novell has integrated support for XML in the next version of GroupWise. The article says that the new version of GroupWise will allow users access to their GroupWise data on any Web-enabled device, including cell phones, PDAs and pagers.

ThinAir Apollo

ThinAirApps announced the availability of ThinAir Apollo.ThinAir Apollo allows anyone using an Internet ready cell phone to access their email from any ISP-provided POP account, Web-based mail, and open IMAP mail servers. Enterprises, network providers, and application service providers may license the company’s ThinAir Server platform with native support for Microsoft Exchange Server and Lotus Domino.

Tivoli, Palm alliance

Tivoli Systems and Palm announced an alliance that will provide enterprise IT solutions that refine enterprise management of the Palm OS handheld computers. As part of this alliance, Tivoli has launched the new Tivoli Device Manager for the Palm Computing platform

Domino access on Pocket PC

Microsoft unveiled new features of the Pocket PC, including pocket versions of Outlook Inbox, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Pocket Inbox for Pocket PCs, which are expected to be available from hardware manufacturers in the next 90 days, will enable access to Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino.

Synchrologic joins SyncML

Synchrologic announced that it will support the SyncML Initiative being driven by IBM, Lotus, Motorola, Nokia, Palm, Inc., Psion and Starfish Software. The SyncML Initiative is focused on developing and promoting an open industry specification for universal data synchronization of remote data and personal information across multiple networks, platforms and devices. Synchrologic plans SyncML support across its range of data synchronization products for laptops and devices based on the Palm OS and Windows CE.

New TurboGold shipments

Stampede Technologies began shipping new additions to its’ TurboGold family of accelerators for Lotus Notes and Domino servers. The new products support IBM’s AS/400 and RS/6000 (AIX) servers in either client-to-server or server-to-server applications.

TeamStudio Edition 13 and 13J ship

Ives Development announced the first customer shipments for Edition 13 and 13J of the TeamStudio Design System, the company’s integrated suite of software engineering tools for Lotus Notes and Domino. The TeamStudio suite includes five modules: Analyzer for design analysis, CIAO! (client and server editions) for check-in/check-out and version control, Configurator for global search and replace, Delta for differential analysis and Librarian for code reuse. Pricing for TeamStudio starts at $495.
