
Puma Technology announced that it will extend its line of Intellisync synchronization solutions to support Windows-powered Pocket PCs. Puma’s Intellisync software will provide users of Pocket PCs with complete synchronization support of email, calendar, contact and task data for Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange and other PC-based PIMs. Intellisync supports Lotus Notes versions 4.5 and 4.6, and Lotus Organizer versions 2.12, 97, GS, 4.1, and 5.0.

Lotus Development announced Lotus Translation Components Release 2.0 (LTC), which allows for easy, on-the-fly language translation of Domino-based Web applications. Lotus Translation Components connect Domino to machine translation engines, including services in IBM WebSphere. By using LTC, users will be able to rapidly and accurately translate applications and Web pages in the language of their choice by connecting to translation technologies and services.

Once again, we’re experiencing weather here in Central NJ. Early this morning, there was a 5.25 hour power failure on Telco equipment, that caused an outage. The BA Telco MUX suffered a power failure causing an outage for a number of customers, including us, directly connected to the Princeton Backbone, as well as some traffic and routing through Princeton, NJ. Bell Atlantic was able to restore power to their equipment and service was restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Latitude Communications announced MeetingPlace Mobile, its e-conferencing application with support for Palm VII. Using MeetingPlace Mobile, end users with Palm VII handheld computers can schedule meetings and invite other meeting participants remotely, as well as assemble teams of people for conferences and collaborative meetings. MeetingPlace Mobile also has automatic team calling, email notifications, and integration with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes.

Lotus is providing a template and a Best Practices Guide, available free of charge via a Web download, to help Notes Release 5 (R5) customers personalize and customize the Notes Welcome Page in order to create tailored portal applications. The Notes Release 5 Portal Builder enables the development of customized portals for either organizational, departmental or personal use that include information from a variety of sources without requiring any programming skills.

Tacit Knowledge Systems announced the next version of KnowledgeMail that integrates into corporate intranets, portals and directories. KnowledgeMail and KnowledgeMail Plus, which works with large enterprise email systems, can now be accessed from an intranet or portal. KnowledgeMail 1.3 also includes deeper integration with Lotus Notes.

Wingra Technologies announced that it has licensed the Migration Wizard software program from Global System Services. The Migration Wizard extends Wingra
