Autonomy announced that KnowledgeTrack, the next generation enterprise portal, is embedding Autonomy’s core technology within its Knowledge Center to help companies add advanced categorization and personalization capabilities to their portal solutions. Autonomy’s technology automates tasks associated with building and maintaining a portal. These functions include categorizing, tagging, linking and personalizing volumes of internal and external information from newsfeeds, emails and Web sites to Lotus Notes and word processing documents.

RSA Security and Lotus Development Corp. extended RSA Security’s public key infrastructure (PKI) technology to Lotus Notes and Domino R5. The two companies announced the creation of a special Lotus Notes and Domino security presentation at the upcoming RSA Conference 2000 to be held in San Jose, Calif., from January 16 to 20. In addition, RSA Security has joined the Lotus Business Partners’ program, and Lotus has become a member of the RSA Secured strategic partner program.

Percussion Software announced that it has enhanced its Domino workflow product, Percussion PowerFlow, with new functionality that includes support for a new graphical interface, customizable statistic reporting and role maintenance. Percussion PowerFlow is an application development tool that allows you to add workflow capabilities to Domino applications.

IT FACTORY announced the acquisition of Corporate Image Software (CIS) and plans to integrate CIS’s e-business functionality for Notes/Domino into the IT FACTORY Notes development environment.

AOL and Time Warner announced they will merge into one huge multimedia company, to be called AOL Time Warner. ZDNet says that Steve Case will be chairman of AOL Time Warner with Time Warner chief Gerald Levin taking the reins as CEO. Ted Turner, vice chairman of Time Warner will remain vice chairman of the merged company.

Puma Technology has announced a new version of its Intellisync Software Development Kit (Intellisync SDK) providing users with the ability to synchronize their email. Version 2.5 of the Intellisync SDK is expected to be released by the end of January 2000.
