
Strategic Net Applications announced the launch of TeamAnywhere, a project management site hosting service for the small and medium business (SMB) market, targeting high-collaboration industries. TeamAnywhere, based on the Lotus QuickPlace teamware server, provides rich text editing, a shared calendar, Java-based tools, workflow and offline capabilities, as well as a customizable interface and administrative features.

Microsoft and Extended Systems announced they will work together in a number of areas, including joint marketing and distribution efforts as well as technical collaboration for future products. Mobile professionals will now have direct access to their data through Extended Systems’ XTNDConnect Server, which provides secure data access directly to Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes/Domino Servers and ODBC-compliant databases.

Sharing Technologies announced the immediate availability of its flagship product, Papirus. Developed for Lotus Notes and Domino users, Papirus allows Notes users to capture information in any format and then share it through their Domino-based intranet.

Pembroke International announced today the immediate availability of ConvertDocument.com a public Internet email-based service that enables users to migrate and co-exist, legacy documents and current standard applications, such as MS Office’97, Lotus Notes, and HTML.

The Apache Software Foundation, in collaboration with Bowstreet, DataChannel, Exoffice, IBM, Lotus Development Corporation and Sun Microsystems, announced the formation of the xml.apache.org Project in response to the demand for Open Source XML and XSL tools triggered by the rapid adoption of XML. xml.apache.org will provide a set of XML- and XSL-related libraries and applications within an industry-wide, peer-based Open Source development process.
