
Information Week reports that several executives at Lotus are leaving the company. The report says that James Feiger, executive vice president of worldwide field operations, and Mike Laginski, senior vice president along with John Throckmorton, executive vice president of development, and Brian Bell, a senior vice president who worked on knowledge management are leaving Lotus.

Dragon Systems announced Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 4 Enterprise Edition. Dragon NaturallySpeaking Enterprise allows network administrators to install and manage Dragon NaturallySpeaking software from a central location. The Dragon NaturallySpeaking Enterprise product family includes four editions: Enterprise, Enterprise Professional, Enterprise Legal, and Enterprise Medical.

Lotus announced that online registration is now open for Lotus DevCon 2000, June 21-24 in San Francisco, California. The fourth annual conference for software developers working with Lotus products will focus on new development techniques for collaborative e-business technologies and will feature a keynote address by Lotus President and CEO Al Zollar.

IBM is giving away free Netfinity servers and Websphere e-commerce software to start-up companies in order to increase sales. The companies will be able to make use of the free products for six months, with no strings attached. IBM’s strategy is that the companies will then purchase the products and finance the equipment through IBM Global Finance.

Lotus Domino Offline Services (DOLS) is now available and can be downloaded at no charge from the Lotus Web site. DOLS lets you access Domino applications while disconnected.

NEC Computers announced the MobilePro 880 Handheld PC Professional. The new MobilePro 880 offers increased processing speed over previous models and a new suite of enterprise oriented utilities and applications software. With Extended Systems XTNDConnect Client for Windows CE the MobilePro 880 connects to Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes. It’s now available for approximately $949.

Research In Motion introduced a palm-sized wireless handheld with integrated support for wireless email, Internet, paging and organizer features. The RIM 957 Wireless Handheld is for mobile users and incorporates a 32-bit Intel 386 processor, 5MB Intel flash memory, keyboard, embedded wireless modem, integrated organizer and support for the BlackBerry wireless email solution. RIM also announced plans for Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) support on RIM Wireless Handhelds and Lotus Notes support for BlackBerry wireless email.

esna announced on 10th April 2000 that it is launching a limited edition Domino hosting solution offering a free domain name, a free POP3 account and free Web stats. New customers will get 15MB of Web Space if you sign up through the esna Web site. The offer is likely to run until the end of April 2000.
