Email over cell phones

etrieve, Inc. premiered its M3 (mobile message management) service that allows users to listen to their email when away from the office. etrieve’s M3 service targets the cell phone to let you manage office email from any location. The service works with any phone and is available today for users of Microsoft Outlook email or with POP3-accessible accounts such as Yahoo, MindSpring, MSN, CompuServe and others. Support for Lotus Notes and Eudora will be available in the summer.

Lotus Notes to go mobile

PC Week Online reports Lotus Development Corp. will soon have completed two versions of Notes that give mobile users access to home office data. Both Mobile Notes and iNotes are due out by the end of June. They promise remote email checking from a variety of devices and also allow users to check calendars and access address books.

Gist-in-Time connector for LTC

Alis Technologies introduced a new connector that lets Lotus applications such as Notes, Domino, Sametime, and others work with Alis’ Gist-In-Time language-comprehension solution for understanding foreign-language documents. The Alis connector works with the new Lotus Translation Component (LTC) to link Lotus applications to Alis’ Gist-In-Time solution.
