NetWorker, AppManager integration

NetIQ announced a new product module that provides integration between Legato NetWorker and the NetIQ AppManager Suite. With support for Legato NetWorker added to the NetIQ product family, IT personnel can now use AppManager to monitor the health of their Legato NetWorker backup solution that provides data protection for those same servers and applications. The NetIQ AppManager Suite provides monitoring of Windows NT- and Windows 2000-based systems and applications such as Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Citrix WinFrame, Oracle and Lotus Domino.

Aviator Starter Kit available

Aviator Software. announced availability of the Aviator Starter Kit, a special license package of its file management software for Lotus Notes and Domino. The Starter Kit is for technical teams that need file management and a solution for widespread deployment. The Starter Kit has all the functionality of Aviator and includes the open source code.

New from Plumtree

Plumtree Software released an early version of new software that integrates the IBM Enterprise Information Portal with the Plumtree Corporate Portal. The new solution is part of an expanded relationship with IBM. In addition to its ability to scan Lotus Notes databases and categorize Lotus Notes documents and attachments, Plumtree now offers new services within the Plumtree Portal for searching IBM image and COLD repositories, accessing data warehouses and Lotus Notes document databases.

Connectria, Lotus deal

Connectria announced that it has been awarded a contract by Lotus Development Corp. to provide full-service application hosting of Lotus’ software platforms, including Lotus’ new LearningSpace Anytime 3.0 and Lotus QuickPlace. Connectria will provide all computer hardware, facilities, engineering services, and support necessary to maintain Lotus’ LearningSpace Anytime 3.0 and QuickPlace applications and databases which will be available to Lotus’ clients via the Internet.

SmartForce in Japanese

SmartForce announced that it has formed a strategic relationship with a division of Japanese telecommunications firm Nippon Telegraph and Telephony (NTT) to introduce SmartForce e-Learning to Japan. The relationship will include Japanese-language versions of SmartForce’s Microsoft Windows 2000 Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco, Lotus Notes and Windows 98 courseware.
