Upgraded support

Johnson Consulting announced that it has upgraded it’s cc:Mail support and it’s third-party product support. The new system will include a toll-free support number along with the ability for global administrators to call in and get answers. Along with cc:Mail support, Johnson Consulting’s support will also be available for it’s third-party product line, which includes products like Internet Exchange, Max Compression, Mail Scout, ComAxis and Polaris and RealView. Johnson Consulting has prepared the system to include Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes in the year 2000.

Lotus can regain momentum

Interactive Week has this article on how Lotus could regain momentum from Microsoft in the groupware race. The article says that recent announcements by Lotus have put it ahead in the race to build collaborative software that integrates with a variety of access points.

NT 4.0 Service Pack warning

Thanks to Senior Technical Editor Richard Echeandia for sending in this item from PC Week. Apparently, folks who have Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 told PC Week Labs that SP6 caused a range of problems, including loss of access to Lotus Notes and system seize-ups.

Finding of fact

In case you haven’t heard, Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson handed down his finding of fact statement. The statement was a blow to Microsoft because Judge Jackson found that Microsoft had a monopoly and abused that power.

SAP coming to handhelds

SAP announced that its customer relationship management (CRM) applications will now be accessible using various handheld and mobile Internet devices. News.com reports that SAP’s applications will support Windows CE and the Palm OS.

GroupWise enhancements

Computer Reseller News has this article on Novell’s Enhancement Pack for GroupWise 5.5. The Enhancement Pack is designed to manipulate multiple messages, delete messages without opening them and access Internet directories through the LDAP Internet standard.

IBM’s new portal

IBM introduced its Enterprise Information Portal system. Information Week says that the technology will provide access to documents and multimedia data stored in IBM’s Enterprise Document Management Suite and in Lotus Notes/Domino databases.
