
Computer Reseller News has cited a recent study from the Gartner Group, saying that enterprises using Microsoft software should expect to pay 50 percent more per year through 2002. The Gartner Group said that this is a result of of changes to terms and conditions.

Puma Technology announced that it will launch a free Internet-based synchronization service scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2000. Intellisync.com will allow anyone with Internet access to keep PC applications, mobile devices and Web-based content and services effortlessly synchronized from one central address on the Internet.

InfoWorld says that Microsoft announced the availability of the second beta of the Microsoft Directory Synchronization Services (MSDSS). The MSDSS allows for the synchronization of data stored in Novell’s Novell Directory Service and Microsoft’s Active Directory.

WWoW! Communications announced a new Dedicated Domino Server Hosting Plan. The dedicated service plan now includes a hardware buyout option. WWoW! Currently provides it’s customers with a PII 400 MHZ server free of charge. Customers completing a 12 month service agreement will take ownership of the server that they are hosted on.

IBM is expected to release an updated version of its server-based application suite for Windows NT. InfoWorld reports that this new version has Version 6.1 of DB2, MQSeries 5.1, and Lotus Domino 5.0.

Microsoft has released some details about Exchange 2000, according to a story from News.com. Microsoft is going to try to get a hold on the knowledge management market with Exchange 2000, which is due in the first half of next year.
