In addition to supporting CyberCash in the US, this connector for LotusScript now supports Barclays ePDQ service in the UK and the new industry standard SET (Secure Electronic Transactions) protocol. Integration with the IT Factory architecture, SDK and tool set will also be featured.

Palm, Lotus join alliance

Ericsson, IBM, Lotus, Oracle, Palm Computing and Symbian are joining forces in the GPRS Applications Alliance (GAA), a cross-industry initiative designed to serve as a catalyst in the advancement of applications based on the new mobile packet switching technology, GPRS. GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) introduces packet data to mobile networks and is a step for GSM and TDMA operators in the evolution to third generation mobile networks, enabling a range of new and enhanced services in a mobile environment.

Lotus, InstallShield agreement

InstallShield Software Corporation announced a licensing agreement with Lotus Development. The agreement allows Lotus to redistribute InstallShield’s Internet-based packaging solution, PackageForTheWeb, with Lotus Sametime release 1.5, the new version of Lotus’ real-time collaboration platform that allows users to find other online users, converse and collaborate live over a corporate intranet or the Internet.

VSI-FAX for notes

VSI (V-Systems, Inc.) announced the worldwide roll-out of its Lotus Notes fax solution for the enterprise, VSI-FAX for Notes 3.0.1 for Lotus Notes Release 5 (R5). In addition to complete R5 compatibility, enhancements specific to VSI-FAX for Notes 3.0.1 include HP ScanJet and Brooktrout NetAccess board support.

getAccess for R5

enCommerce announced that its getAccess software will integrate with Lotus Development Corp.’s Domino Application Server Release 5 (R5). In late November, enCommerce will ship the getAccess Runtime for Domino R5, which allows customers integrating the getAccess secure e-business portal management solution with Domino-managed resources to deploy and manage these solutions without making substantial modifications to the getAccess or Domino architectures.

Microsoft gets Lotus partners

News.com is reporting that Microsoft is courting InfoImage, a longtime Lotus partner, to supply software and consulting services to companies that want to integrate information from corporate systems, email, and the Web into a single view on corporate desktops. Micorsoft benefits from this because that allows businesses to create customized versions of Microsoft’s Outlook 2000 email software.
