Messaging seats

Lotus Development Corp. outsold Microsoft Corp. for corporate messaging seat sales last quarter.Lotus ended up with 5 million seats sold by the close of last quarter, said Electronic Mail & Messaging Systems (EMMS), a Washington, D.C.-based newsletter that tracks the industry.

Japanese support for Palm

3Com Corp. announced Japanese language support for all products based on its Palm Computing platform. The company has developed a Japanese language-enabled version of the Palm OS software.
