
PC Week has this article about Lotus’ acquisition of Onestone Information Technologies GmbH, of Paderborn, Germany. According to the article, Lotus will offer Onestone’s Prozessware 2.0 within the next few months.

Softlink announced email VOICELink 3.0, an e-mail application that adds audio capabilities to regular text based e-mail. VOICELink messages are supported by Microsoft Outlook, Netscape, Lotus Notes and Eudora just as regular text based e-mail with small attachments are supported.

Percussion Software announced Percussion ServerAdmin Plus 6.1. Percussion ServerAdmin Plus allows customers to manage their Notes/Domino environments by focusing on a network-wide view of administration and problem prevention. This client-based tool focuses on four key areas: security, database management, user and group management, and server monitoring.

Shym Technology introduced the Shym for Lotus Notes, a modular component of the PKEnable product family. This provides Notes users with the ability to utilize digital certificates from Entrust, VeriSign and GTE Cybertrust to securely authenticate to Notes databases and applications.

ComputerWorks now has an InterTrac R5 screencam available for download at their Web site. InterTrac is a multi-function Notes application that allows modifications on every level, and protects these modifications throughout future upgrades.

ZDNet has this article which asks if Linux is ready for the big leagues. The article also mentions Lotus’ plans to IBM’s Lotus’ plans to release a version of Notes for Linux this year.

Hewlett-Packard announced the availability of OpenMail Release 6.0, the latest version of its UNIX system business messaging and collaboration solution. The folks at HP say that interoperability with Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino servers has been improved.
