
PC Week interviewed Lotus CEO Jeff Papows at a chance meeting at Boston’s Logan International Airport Monday. Papows comments on last week’s Wall Street Journal story which said that Papows lied about his background.

Information Week reports that Lotus will start shipping LotusEnterprise Integrator 3.0 this week. The software formerly known as LotusPump, allows developers to integrate ERP applications with Domino R5.

Glassbook announced a product strategy to develop and market an electronic book (e-book) software system for the Internet. Founded by Len Kawell, co-inventor of Lotus Notes, the firm is building a suite of open standards – based products that integrate the entire electronic book distribution and delivery process.

Lotus announced that it has shipped Lotus eSuite DevPack 2.0, a set of Java components and utilities that helps Domino Web application developers build interactive solutions for intranets and extranets.

As of Monday 3rd May 1999 esna ltd. will be changing its pricing structure for Domino Hosting to reflect the requests of its customers. They will no longer base prices on a per database basis but on disk space. This means that multiple databases can be hosted from 335 per 25MB, with no setup fees or bandwidth charges. Full details will be posted on esna’s Web site Saturday 1st May 1999.

Lotus announced a technology agreement with Paragon Software, makers of FoneSync, a PC-based digital mobile phone synchronization tool. As a result of this agreement, users of Lotus Organizer will be able to easily and automatically synchronize contact information between Lotus Organizer and digital mobile phones from Ericsson, Mitsubishi, Nokia, Panasonic, and Sony.

PeopleSoft announced that PeopleSoft Select is available for IBM Netfinity and RS/6000 servers. Customers can chose from a variety of leading database solutions, including IBM’s DB2 Universal Database. Systems will also be available with other complementary IBM software such as Lotus Notes/Domino, IBM MQSeries and Tivoli TME10.
