
Lotus introduced SmartSuite Millennium Edition R9.5 at the PC Expo in New York City. New features include an organizer R5 with SmartCenter, FastSite R2 ViaVoice QuickDemo, new or improved Word Pro filters for Word, WordPerfect, AmiPro, HTML, & RTF for enhanced compatibility, updated Excel and PowerPoint filters and customer requested bug fixes.

At PC Expo today, Lotus Development Corp. announced details of its Super.move mail migration packages, which provide customers with solutions to move from their current electronic messaging platforms to Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5.

Gates/Arrow Distributing announced it has reached a North American distribution agreement with InterNoded Incorporated. Gates/Arrow will distribute InterNoded’s HyperTrac and will provide marketing, sales, and technical support to resellers in the United States and Canada. Gates/Arrow will offer several bundled solutions packages that combine HyperTrac with Lotus Notes and Domino applications and IBM Netfinity products.

Lotus made several big announcements from DevCon ’99 in San Francisco, California. Lotus announced support for Microsoft’s COM software architecture, extended Domino support for HTML authoring tools, new portable e-Business application capabilities, and Domino Workflow 2.0.

Enlighten Software Solutions announced that its product, EnlightenDSM, has begun shipping as a component of IBM’s Suites for Solaris and AIX products. There are three types of Suites: the Base Suite, the Business Integration Suite and the Enterprise Suite. The Base Suite for Solaris or AIX is designed to meet the needs of branch offices and departments and medium-sized businesses. Along with EnlightenDSM, it includes IBM’s WebSphere Application Server, DB2 Universal database, Lotus Domino, Adstar Distributed Storage Manager, and Sun’s SunLink SNA/PTP communications server.

News.com reports that Lotus will demo the Linux version of its Domino Web server at this week’s PC Expo. Lotus is also expected to introduce a new migration strategy called Super.move.

There’s a new agreement between Lotus and Lycos. Lycos has agreed to deliver personalized Lycos Network information to the Lotus Notes R5 desktop. The Lycos Network content will be presented through the Notes Welcome Page.
