
Actual Software announced that version 2.0 of the MultiMail Conduit for MacOS will include support for email synchronization with an IMAP4 server. IMAP4 is an email protocol supported by most corporate email servers, including Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, and Novell GroupWise.

Lotus announced this week that Lotus Domino R5 will now run on the IBM S/390 server. PC Week reports that IBM officials said Lotus Domino R5 for IBM S/390 can support up to three times as many users as Domino R4 for S/390.

IKON Office Solutions said it will expand its Lotus and IBM services practice to include host integration. IKON Office Solutions’ Technology Services Group will offer IBM SecureWay Software to provide integrated directory, connectivity and security between users and applications for e-business.

Visual Mining announced the availability of ChartWorks Server 3.5. ChartWorks Server 3.5 supports direct connection to a data source and provides developers and Web authors charting capabilities for applications that require security, scheduling, multiple output formats, multiple client types, indexing, searching, or browsing. ChartWorks Server 3.5 features new data connectivity plug-ins which allow users to connect to ODBC, Sybase, Oracle, Lotus Domino, and CSV data sources.

Lotus and Novell announced that the two companies have created a single log-on solution using Novell Directory Services for the Lotus Domino servers and the Notes client. The currently shipping Novell Single Sign-on offering provides Notes or Web browser users with a single place to sign-on to a network and receive services from NDS and/or Domino.

At MACWORLD Expo today, Lotus Development Corp. announced plans for the availability of Lotus Notes Release 5 (R5) for the Macintosh operating system. Notes R5 for the Macintosh will be available to Lotus Business Partners and customers later this summer.

IBM and Lotus announced the availability of Lotus Domino Release 5 for IBM S/390. Lotus Domino R5 for S/390 offers customers scalability, availability, and security. Coupled with new data integration features, Domino R5 for S/390 enables S/390 customers to extend their applications with Domino.
