Inso Corporation’s Information Exchange Division announced availability of Outside In Server 2.0, an enhancement of the Web server-based, real time HTML conversion software. Outside In Server supports conversion to HTML, GIF and JPEG of business documents, including files from the latest Microsoft, Lotus and Corel Office suites.

Only Notes can prevent forest fires

Lotus Development announced that four major U.S. federal government agencies are using Lotus Domino and Lotus Notes. The U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Geological Survey have selected Lotus’ technology that provides secure, Internet-based access for mission-critical government applications and training.

AnyDay organizer

AnyDay.com announced the ability to synchronize information from personal information managers (PIMs) and personal digital assistants (PDA) with its online DayPlanner service. The service will support the integration of personal data from personal organizers, including Lotus Notes, Lotus Organizer, Microsoft Outlook, the Palm Computing family of handheld organizers, and Windows CE devices.

Interliant agreement with Whittman-Hart

Interliant announced an agreement with Whittman-Hart to deliver Interliant’s eReach for Messaging, an outsourced Lotus Domino Messaging Solution and e-mail migration service. Interliant will ship fully built and configured servers and remotely manage those servers residing on the customer’s site. Whittman-Hart will perform customers’ integration and migration to the new messaging platform.

Lotus released the results of the first Certified Lotus Professional survey. The overall average annual compensation for a CLP in the US is $70,000.

Lotus done with eSuite

Computer Reseller News has this story on how Lotus wants to pull the plug on eSuite, a bundle of Java-based applications. The article says that this is due to a lack of support in the network computing market.

AS/400e live

On September 1, Lotus plans to have two live cybercasts of the announcement of IBM’s AS/400e Dedicated Server for Domino. You have to register at the AS/400 Web site to watch the cybercasts.

Compact proxy server

Cybernet announced it is launching a compact proxy server as a server for SMB networks running Lotus Notes/Domino on a Window 95/98/NT server. ProxyGate is a proxy server specifically for Lotus Notes, facilitating a secure way to provide Internet access simultaneously to multiple users in your network using a single Internet connection of any type( a dialup, ISDN, cable modem or a leased line).

Domino replication

4NF announced their next-generation virtual replicator for Lotus Domino servers. Cascade 2.0 allows companies running Domino systems to merge or divide non-replica databases using pure Lotus Notes replication. Cascade 2.0 is a major upgrade of 4NF’s add-on for Domino. The new release of Cascade adds the ability to define replication settings on a per replication basis.
