Harsh accusations

SiteScape refutes Lotus’ claim in recent Web ads and on the Lotus Web site that Lotus Domino is "the only collaborative application server for Linux." SiteScape official announced SiteScape Forum 4.1 for Linux on August 9, 1999, a full three months before Lotus, and has been actively marketing and selling the product since that time.

Database Auditor 1.0

4NF announced their latest product, Database Auditor 1.0, for Lotus Domino servers on Windows NT. Database Auditor collects database and template information on each server it’s installed on.

Cybernet Software Systems, Inc. (CSS) announced the acquisition of Primeapple Software, and the availability of a new product in the IntelliPRINT product family containing report generation features. The new product will be available by Lotusphere 2000 in Orlando.

AS/400e-Domino solutions

IBM announced the first in a series of packaged end-to-end e-business applications for customers who want to connect their back-office to the Internet. The AS/400e-Domino solutions from IBM Business Partners Binary Tree, Clear Technologies, and Emerging Technology Solutions offer a combination of hardware, software and services. The hardware includes IBM’s AS/400e Dedicated Server for Domino, a system specifically designed to run Lotus Domino applications.

Notes/Domino 5.0.2a

Notes and Domino 5.0.2a are now available for download. In Notes 5.0.2a Sametime functionality is integrated into the Notes Mail Template. Notes also adds an icon for Sametime access to the bookmark bar when it is installed and detects a Sametime client. Notes 5.0.2a does not include a Sametime server — these features will be available to users who have already configured their environment for Sametime.

AOL’s instant messaging block

The instant messaging wars continue. AT&T released software that let users of its instant messaging service contact users of AOL’s AIM service. AOL then began to block those attempts Wednesday afternoon.

New Loyal View version

Sisdam Technology announced the availability of Loyal View+ version 1.2. Loyal View+ is a tool for creating user interfaces in Lotus Notes and other applications. It allows you to embed one or more Lotus Notes views inside forms, display pop-up views, and dynamically filter view contents, change view data source at run-time (server, database and view).

Polaris distributor

Johnson Consulting announced that it will distribute SoftCell Polaris Enterprise Application Reporter. Polaris collects message data and reports on electronic messaging activity in e-mail and GroupWare environments. The current version 1.5 supports both cc:Mail and Exchange environments.
