iEnteprises and salesforce.com announced the availability of iEnterprises’ wireless CRM application, CRM on the Go, for salesforce.com users. With CRM on the Go, you can manage opportunities, facilitate multi-faceted reporting, manage call reports, send alerts, and search, store and download information residing in Salesforce. CRM on the Go also offers multi-lingual capabilities and tightly integrates to Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook.

Entrust announced the availability of Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server 8.0, a boundary email solution that offers support for secure email encryption protocols. Entrust EMS 8.0 provides a standards-based email security solution that supports protocols like OpenPGP, S/MIME and Adobe PDF. It also includes integration with Lotus Notes and Domino and Microsoft Outlook and Exchange.

Nokia unveiled software for delivering corporate email to mobile devices. CRN reports that the Nokia Business Center software consists of two components: server-side software and a choice of two different device clients. The client software is based on Java and will work with Nokia’s 9300 and 9500 Communicator smartphones as a host of other Nokia smartphones. At first, it will support Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 but will soon support Lotus Notes and Domino.

Siebel Systems is launching OnDemand 9, adding integrations with Lotus Notes and enhanced integration with its Contact OnDemand call center application. SearchDomino.com reports that with pre-built Lotus Notes integration and existing integration with Microsoft Outlook and Exchange, Siebel now supports roughly 95 percent of the world’s messaging and calendaring applications.

The Learning Continuum Company (TLCC) has released a new course for Notes and Domino developers and administrators who want to learn about Domino 7. DB2 for Domino 7 Administrators and Developers is designed to teach both administrators and developers about the biggest change in Notes Domino 7, the ability to store Domino data in DB2. Once the you learn DB2 basics, the course covers how to setup a Domino 7 server with DB2. You’ll then learn how to create new kinds of applications that combine DB2 data in Domino views (Query Views) and how to allow DB2 applications to access Domino data (Access Views.).

This blog over at ZDnet published a letter from Salesforce.com’s Marc Benioff CEO to employees about Oracle’s acquisition of Siebel Systems. Benioff writes, "Siebel on Demand, a joint venture between Siebel and IBM, will be the first to be buried. Siebel on Demand is written exclusively on DB2 and WebSphere and runs in IBM data centers. Oracle will kill it. Oracle does not sell DB2."

Oracle said it will acquire Siebel Systems in a deal worth $5.8 billion. CNet reports that Oracle will offer $10.66 for each share of Siebel stock, a nearly 17 percent premium over the company’s $9.13 closing price Friday. The deal, subject to approval by Siebel shareholders and by regulators, is expected to close next year.
