Installing VMWare Server 1.0.6 on Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit

Charles Robinson says he didn’t choose Vista. His boss bought a Gateway DX4710 with the idea of installing Windows Server 2003 on it. However, there weren’t any drivers for Win2k3 and he was stuck with Vista Home Premium. Check out his experience.

Longtime FoZ (Friend of ZATZ) Jason Perlow has an interesting take on virtualized computing, circa 2016. His scenario is one of the better ones, because it feels quite authentic and mirrors a lot of what we’ve been thinking about here in semi-virtualized ZATZland.

After the recent spate of Florida fires and the beginning of hurricane season, we’re working as fast as we can to put as much of our day-to-day critical desktop work into the cloud, so if we have to hit the road fast, it’ll all be there. Of course, the network operations and ZATZ sites are already in the cloud at our co-lo provider, but it’s time to think about the same things for the desktop.
