
Group West announced that it has entered into an agreement with Acceleron Solutions Inc. of Toronto to work together to market and support Lotus Notes and Domino on IBM midrange platforms. These products allow creation of secure, interactive electronic commerce solutions for the Internet, corporate intranets and extranets.

TechWeb reports Novell Synchronicity was developed by NetVision, whose product of the same name lets companies synchronize several key system directories,such as Windows NT, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, and older versions of NetWare.

Three former executives from IBM and Lotus Development announced they have formed Engenia Software, Inc. to develop and market a distributed, collaborative software suite that promotes enterprise-wide coordination of initiatives, strategies and projects. Engenia founders include Jeffrey Crigler, formerly IBM’s Vice President of Internet Information Technologies; Nigel Elkan, formerly Director of Lotus Development’s Knowledge Management marketing strategy; and Jeffrey Kay, formerly IBM’s Chief Architect for Cyptolope products.

IBM this week plans to make available to customers the latest release of the operating system software for its AS/400 midrange servers. The upgrade, OS/400 Version 4 Release 4, includes several new features that IBM said are designed for Internet businesses. OS/400 V4R4 is scheduled to be released on May 21.

Excalibur Technologies announced a systems integration contract with BG Technology (a BG plc business unit). The agreement allows BG Technology to market Excalibur’s entire range of commercial and software developer products as integral components within customized knowledge management solutions.

Abuzz said its new Beehive software enables organizations to support their knowledge not captured in written form across the enterprise or the Internet using email as its core means of transmission. Beehive acts as a stand-alone solution, or can integrate seamlessly with leading groupware tools such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange.

FileNET introduced Panagon 2000, an extension of the Panagon family of software. Panagon 2000 also allows users and partners to create solutions that integrate with popular Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes groupware environments. This capability will provide customers with the ability to manage the massive volumes of e-mail and other electronically generated documents spread across an organization.
