
River Run Software announced a new feature in their River Run MobileSuite for Domino product. The new feature converts any Lotus Notes application into a Visual Basic (VB) application that runs on Microsoft Windows CE-based handheld devices.

kforce Consulting, formerly Romac eT, announced the signing of an agreement that allows kforce Consulting to distribute computer-based training for Lotus Notes produced by ReCor Corporation. The software simulates Lotus Notes and Domino to create an interactive, self-paced learning environment.

Beginning this April, U S WEST Hosting Solutions will provide its Lotus Notes messaging customers protection from email-borne viruses with Trend Micro’s ScanMail for Lotus Notes, which is an application that resides in U S WEST’s network and is continually updated by Trend Micro’s team of virus doctors to protect against viruses.

Lotus Development and IBM said they will improve the integration of Domino and WebSphere. TechWeb says that The details of how the products will better integrate will not be released until later in the year.

Compaq Computer Corporation announced ActiveAnswers for Lotus Domino R5, providing customers with complete Linux-based solutions for Lotus Domino as well as the tools that will allow them to deploy the solution.

IT FACTORY announced the immediate availability of version 5.0 of its ITF Software Development Kit (SDK) and suite of business applications. The ITF SDK builds upon a uniform set of objects, databases and design methodologies to bring structure to Notes application development. Release 5.0 of the ITF Software Development Kit now supports all Domino R5 design elements including outlines, pages, framesets, images, applets and shared actions.

GWI Software announced it will assume an equity position in Netherlands-based Lotus Business Partner, Xpert-Ease. Xpert-Ease will change its name to GWI Software Europe and will sell the GWI Collaborative Front Office. GWI will continue to service its United Kingdom customers through its exclusive partnership with TriCoStar.

Tally Systems Corp. announced Veranda for Lotus Domino. Veranda for Domino is a comprehensive email management and reporting tool for Lotus Domino/Notes enterprises, designed to independently track messages in Domino R4.x and Domino Release 5 (R5), as well as collect and report on email usage data for distributed Domino servers.

Ives Development announced a major expansion of the company’s TeamStudio product line. Among the components of the announcement are: a new version, Edition 13, of Ives’ TeamStudio Design System; the availability of the system for the Japanese market; and the development, with Lotus Business Partner Tactica Technology Group, of TeamStudio LifeCycle, the Web-based training class covering the systems development life cycle for Notes and Domino developers.
