New version of Web conferencing system

Sonexis announced Sonexis ConferenceManager 4.0, the new version of the company’s integrated audio and Web conferencing system. Sonexis ConferenceManager 4.0 introduces new collaborative capabilities including application sharing and audio recording and playback, adds integration with Lotus Notes to its existing integration with Microsoft Outlook for scheduling and contact management, and adds another layer of security with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) support.

Mirapoint goes Full-Spectrum

Mirapoint announced its new Full-Spectrum email security technology, which includes features for mail server and gateway-level spam protection, spam recognition and tagging intelligence, and personalized end-user controls. Mirapoint Message Director supports Microsoft Exchange or IBM Lotus Domino/Notes.

TrueSync Server 4.0 released

Pumatech announced the availability of its TrueSync Server 4.0 software – a SyncML-compliant solution that provides wireless synchronization of PIM (personal information management) data across applications, devices and networks. TrueSync Server 4.0 supports synchronization of SyncML devices with Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino enterprise groupware, as well as Oracle, DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server databases.

IBM Lotus Workplace 1.1 coming real soon

Instant Messaging Planet reports that IBM’s Lotus Software unit next week plans to reveal Workplace 1.1, which integrates Web conferencing and IM capabilities from Lotus Team Workplace 3 (a product previously known as QuickPlace, and not part of the Workplace initiative) and Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing (formerly Sametime).

EnterpriSecure Antivirus from Panda Software

Panda Software announced the launch of EnterpriSecure Antivirus. EnterpriSecure offers ExchangeSecure, an antivirus protection for Microsoft Exchange Server systems from version 5.5 to the latest Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. It also offers DominoSecure, which protects IBM’s Lotus Notes and Domino groupware solutions from all types of malicious code.

IBM rolls out new products

eWeek reports that IBM rolled out new content management software for small and midsize businesses and Linux shops, as well as new content management integration offerings and records management product enhancements. IBM’s DB2 Content Manager Adapter for WebSphere Business Integrator allows Content Manager to access content from and share content with other applications. IBM also unveiled new versions of DB2 CommonStore for SAP, DB2 CommonStore for Exchange Servers and DB2 CommonStore for Lotus Domino.

ExtraFax 6.1 released

Extracomm Technologies announced ExtraFax 6.1. This version includes support for an optional Interactive Voice Recognition Module (IVR). ExtraFax 6.1 also adds a Standard 15 offering, which is for up to 15 users with a 2 channel fax board or unlimited modems on the ExtraFax server.

IBM announces new services for government compliance

IBM announced an increased commitment to assist companies in addressing regulatory compliance requirements with new services and products aimed specifically at helping them meet pending deadlines from the federal government. Among the products announced is IBM Lotus Workplace for Business Controls and Reporting, which is intended for companies undertaking initiatives to comply with emerging compliance requirements, such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Section 404. This IBM solution includes a Control Assessment Template, a development tool that runs on IBM middleware software, and also embeds capabilities from IBM WebSphere Portal and IBM DB2 Content Manager software.

Transform Magazine takes a look at Hummingbird Enterprise 5.1, a Web-based suite of integrated applications including document management, records management, knowledge management, collaboration, search, business intelligence, data integration and a portal. According to the review, the company has more recently added an Automated E-Mail Management solution to provide classification, indexing, search and retention of messaging content in Exchange public folders and Lotus Notes repositories.

Royal Caribbean Cruises selects BlackBerry

Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises and Research In Motion announced that the two cruise lines operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL) have selected BlackBerry to help increase efficiency and enhance customer service through wireless connectivity. Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises chose to implement BlackBerry because of its tight integration with existing corporate infrastructure and always-on, push-based access to email. The IT department integrated BlackBerry Enterprise Server with IBM Lotus Domino and distributed BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds to employees.
