<p>Telecoms by Joe Curtis| 12 March 2014 Polycom bullish over the future of desktop UC despite mobile's rise.</p><p>Polycom believes desktop-based unified communications (UC) are "in rude health" despite the fast growth of mobility.</p><p>The UC device giant has linked its future to that of Microsoft, claiming it provides 70% of endpoint provision for the Lync platform.</p><p>And Charlie James, director of Polycom's Microsoft Alliance for EMEA, said Polycom is seeing a 33% year-on-year growth in Lync handset sales despite predictions that mobile devices will soon replace desktop-based UC.</p><p><a href="http://www.cbronline.com/news/tech/networks/telecoms/polycom-desktop-unified-communications-in-rude-health-4194345">Keep reading...</a></p>
