
<p>Progress has announced it has been positioned by Gartner in the Visionaries quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Application Platform as a Service (aPaaS). The Gartner report, authored and published by Yefim Natis, Massimo Pezzini, Mark Driver, David Mitchell Smith, Kimihiko Iijima and Ross Altman on 7 January 2014, notes: "Enterprise CIOs, IT planners and architects at a growing number of organisations are turning to the cloud for their new application initiatives."</p><p>The Progress Pacific platform as a service (PaaS) enables rapid creation and deployment of data-driven business applications that are unlimited by device or cloud.</p><p>According to the report: "Enterprise IT users too are coming to the aPaaS market in increasing numbers. With the growing adoption of SaaS by mainstream enterprise business and of IaaS by mainstream enterprise IT, more organisations have become familiar with the benefits of cloud computing and more have become dependent on cloud resources. aPaaS is engaged to customise and extend SaaS.
