It's been eight years since DSCI first took business phone systems to the cloud. Now, the company is expanding on that vision to create the future of hosted communications technology. Today DSCI introduces UCx, a hosted unified communications service.

A unified communications (UC) system enables a business to not only replicate, but expedite the natural flow of communications: for example, an instant message can take the place of an impromptu meeting, and a video conference eliminates the need for business travel. Many businesses have already implemented UC components (such as softphones or web conferencing services) in an a la carte fashion, but could not tie these disparate services together until now.

DSCI's UCx service merges many UC tools into an innovative new cloud-based platform. UCx users may be reached by voice call, video call, SMS, or instant messaging with their business identity. Additionally, UCx users can establish virtual meetings on-the-fly with conference calling, desktop sharing, and group chat rooms. UCx also enables mobility by providing full functionality through the desk phone, desktop (Windows or Mac), and mobile phone (Android or iPhone).

Because UCx is hosted on the DSCI Hosted Communications Network, businesses will have immediate access to this full suite of UC features without having to invest in additional hardware, software, or infrastructure. Existing customers of DSCI's iPBX Hosted Communications Service will find that UCx expands upon and complements the voice services they have today.
