<p>Panopticon is profiled in Gartner's first ever Cool Vendor report focused on In-Memory Computing; the report was published on April 23, 2013.</p><p>Panopticon Software, the leading provider of visual data discovery and analysis software for real-time, CEP and historical time series data, today announced it has been named a "Cool Vendor" in the Cool Vendors for In-Memory Computing 2013 report by Gartner, Inc. The April 23, 2013 report was co-authored by Roy Schulte, Roxane Edjlali, et al. This is the first year that Gartner has called out In-Memory Computing specifically as a subject for one of its Cool Vendor reports.</p><p>Gartner identified In-Memory Computing (IMC) as one of the top 10 strategic technology trends for 2013 at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo held in late 2012. Gartner stated that IMC can provide transformational opportunities. The execution of certain-types of hours-long batch processes can be squeezed into minutes or even seconds allowing these processes to be provided in the form of real-time or near real-time services that can be delivered to internal or external users in the form of cloud services. Millions of events can be scanned in a matter of a few tens of millisecond to detect correlations and patterns pointing at emerging opportunities and threats "as things happen." The possibility of concurrently running transactional and analytical applications against the same dataset opens unexplored possibilities for business innovation.
