
<p>Enterprise 2.0 and Social Business are reaching a stage of maturity in Europe with detailed cases from mid and large-sized organizations from a wide range of industries, headquartered in various European countries. At Enterprise 2.0 Summit Paris, held March 20th-21st, we saw executives and program leaders share their progress and success with long-term organizational transformations. Each had engaged in multi-year projects affecting many functions across their business, truly on the scale of what Social Business transformations should encompass.</p><p>To name a few of them, there were cases from: SONAE from Portugal (Diversified but primarily Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods) SNCF, the French rail transportation company Deutsche Telekom AG, the German telecom giant Deutsche Post DHL, the German national mail and package delivery services company Telecom Italia, the Italian telecom company Schneider Electric based in France, the electrical and industrial products giant Van Marke, a mid-sized family-owned Belgian company in industrial equipment as well as banking and trading. Continental AG, the German auto parts manufacturer ABN AMRO, the Dutch state-owned banking and financial services provider Atos the multinational IT Services provider in the news last year for declaring a Zero-email policy across the organization</p><p>Table 1: Programs and Characteristics of the Case study Organizations at Enterprise 2.0 Summit 2013</p><p>What is reassuring to me is not the increase in number of case studies available but in the depth of experience they have developed and to some degree the similarities of their multi-year journeys. Table 1 shows some of the programs and characteristics that these organizations in the various case studies have had in common, based upon the presentations and discussions during the event.
