<p>Omantel has announced that it is offering unified communications (UC) to its corporate customers through Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Lync, as well as the revamped Email Hosting service. The Business Unit Manager for Communication Solutions, Adel al Awadhi, said the technology aims at making communication easier and safer between employees within and across organisations.</p><p>Microsoft Lync provides state-of-the-art communications capabilities, including instant messaging, audio/video conferencing and a rich online meeting experience including web conferencing. Lync is assists organisations to increase productivity through the collaborative tools it provides. It comes in two packages, the Basic and the Ultimate. Both provide instant messages, audio and video calls through the internet, desktop and file sharing. The Basic package is available for OMR 1.9 per user per month and the Ultimate package, which includes audio and video conferencing, is available for OMR 3.8 per user per month.</p><p>The Microsoft SharePoint service is available in three packages; the first provides 1 GB for OMR 9.1 per month. The second provides 3GB for OMR 12.8 per month and the third package provides 5 GB for OMR 16.6 per month.</p><p>Omantel also launched the all-new and enhanced email hosting service and revised package, which provides features such as sharing appointments, calendars, tasks and communication lists.</p><p><a href="http://www.telecompaper.com/news/omantel-offers-microsoft-based-unified-communications--928754">Keep reading...</a></p>
