
<p>When EMC bought Syncplicity last spring, you had to know that they wouldn't be content to let it be a stand-alone file sharing service--or even let it live exclusively in the Information Intelligence Group. And sure enough, EMC announced a product this week that combines Syncplicity cloud storage with the Isilon and Atmos on-premise storage products.</p><p>EMC hopes that by providing a combined service in this fashion, it will give users the flexibility they need to access content from mobile devices and across their computing lives, while giving IT the on-premise storage that makes IT pros feel warm and fuzzy.</p><p>In a statement, Chris Ratcliffe, vice president of marketing for the EMC Advanced Storage Division, said the combination covers all the bases for enterprise customers.</p><p>"The combination of Syncplicity and the Atmos cloud storage platform delivers a highly automated, enterprise-grade file sharing capability, where policies and performance follow data wherever it's accessed or shared without sacrificing security or control," he said.</p><p><a href="http://www.fiercecontentmanagement.com/story/emc-brings-syncplicity-enterprise-family/2013-01-16">Keep reading...</a></p>
