<p>Bajaj Group, one of the top ten business conglomerates in India,is currently in the midst of implementing 2,500 megawattscoal-based independent power plants in Uttar Pradesh. Thecompany's power plants are dispersed across six remotelocations in India, around 1,500 kilometers away from the corporateheadquarters. And the power plant's on-site employees werefacing a major challenge in communicating with the far offcorporate headquarter leading to delayed decision making, which inturn affected the execution of projects in a timely manner.</p><p>The business challenge</p><p>During the construction, operation and maintenance phases in thepower business, quick decision-making is required to ensure speedyproject delivery times and enable high productivity levels. Butpreviously, the structure in place for decision making, involvedBajaj's staff and key senior officials to travel greatdistances for in-person meetings, which proved time consuming andcostly.
