<A target="_blank" href="http://dominogavin.blogspot.com/2009/10/ibm-lotus-notes-designer-851.html">Gavin Bollard had some problems installing the Notes 8.5.1 client</A> though 8.5 seemed to work fine. He finally made two changes to his preferences and everything worked. He's posted the "fix" just in case you need it.
