
Here’s an article from News.com which says that Acer is moving into the handheld and set-top box markets. Acer is also working on a SmartPhone which will be able to synchronize with standard software, such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes.

dotMail, the hosted mail service from dotOne Corporation, now includes hosting of proprietary messaging systems. Companies can now choose dotOne to host their Microsoft Exchange, Novell GroupWise, Lotus Notes or cc:Mail system. dotMail also provides users of hosted proprietary systems with access to the full range of dotOne messaging services, including bi-directional faxing, paging, X.400, telex, directory synchronization, virus scanning, access control, and spam control.

Information Week has this report from Microsoft’s TechEd conference. At the conference, Microsoft gave attendees a sneak preview of the next version of Exchange, code named Platinum. PC World reports that IBM’s Garry Norris will testify that Microsoft Vice President Joachim Kempin threatened to hike the price of Windows or withhold the operating system entirely to IBM because IBM promoted rival products from its subsidiary Lotus Development.
