ZDNET reports Coca-Cola Co. purchased technology from IBM in order to move its entire advertising and brand history to an online digital media archive. The technology includes IBM’s Content Manager, Lotus Notes, and Lotus Domino.

InternetWeek reports MWH Global Inc. is going to force its 5,500 employees to use the company’s new Web knowledge management portal. According to the article, the company will take away employees’ IBM Lotus Notes clients, replacing them with the new iNotes Web client, which will provide access to email through the knowledge management (KM) portal.

An outbreak of fever in the west African nation of Gabon has been confirmed as Ebola. It is the world’s first documented outbreak of Ebola since last year in Uganda, where 224 people – including health workers – died from the virus. Ebola is one of the most virulent viral diseases known to humankind, causing death in 50 to 90 percent of all clinically ill cases.
Before you start thinking that Gabon is some little-known country in far-off Africa and ask "What does it have to do with Lotus Notes?", be aware that the Port of Gabon is a rather sophisticated Notes site.
