
<A HREF="http://www.techweb.com/wire/story/TWB20000720S0009">TechWeb</A> reports that Microsoft released a patch to eliminate the security flaw in Outlook and Outlook Express that could let vandals control a PC simply by sending it an email. The flaw is known as the "malformed email header vulnerability." According to the article, Microsoft says the flaw is "an unchecked buffer in the mechanism that parses email headers when downloading mail via the POP3 or IMAP4 protocols."
