
<p>Youths will take the future responsibility of the country. It is therefore, imperative that they will not only appreciate the problems facing the country, but also will learn how to meet various challenges. The youth power has been at the root of many a revolution around the world and in our country, the youths had led the historic language movement and fought the great liberation war. Their phenomenal power, if effectively mobilised, could help build the nation on a strong foundation.</p><p>It calls for a concentrated effort on the part of the government to involve the youths in the monumental task of building the nation. This has been done successfully in many European countries where social service is part of the academic curriculum. Youths who take part in social services are only eligible for public employment. This has had a salutary effect at large. Their experience help remove many social evils prevalent in the society.</p><p>A proper orientation of the youths is required before they participate in the social work. This will equip them with skills to meet the challenges more practically and successfully.</p><p>Recently, speakers at a dialogue in London laid emphasis on using Prof Yunus' concept of social business to cut youth unemployment, besides using it as the catalyst for combating climate change.
