Webalo, which develops a cloud-based platform for deploying mobile applications, has been carving a niche for itself over the last several months that centers on enterprise security and mobile applications. Now, it has taken that endeavor to the next level through a new partnership with Good Technologies that combines Mobile Device Management (MDM) with enterprise-class security.

The deal, which was announced late last week, integrates Webalo's point-and-click platform for deploying mobile apps with Good Dynamics, a security-centric development tool for mobile apps. Good Technologies will now provide the Webalo product directly to customers across the world, increasing Webalo's reach within the channel and among end users.

The driving force behind the partnership is a vision of MDM that focuses not on devices alone, but on the broader infrastructure associated with mobile computing in the enterprise. According to Webalo, "The integration with Good Technology now enables Good Technology and Webalo to provide a complete out-of-the-box mobile application infrastructure, from the back-end data and applications, through the security layer providing secure access and control to the mobile device and then back again."

This partnership increases Webalo's profile as a force in the MDM world with a strong focus on security. It follows similar deals earlier this spring with Symantec (SYMC) and Citrix (CTXS) that also centered around combining mobile ease-of-use with the tight security standards that enterprises demand.
