Notes and Domino jobs await at dice.com

DOMINOPOWER SITE OF THE MONTH

By Steve Niles

Typically when I select a DominoPower Site of the Month, I look for cool and intriguing sites that make use of Domino. This month, however, our focus is on career growth and empowerment. Don't let talk of bad economic times scare you. There are a number of proactive steps you can take to make sure you don't end up on the unemployment line.

If you haven't already, read Dan Simmons article, "Contracting and the economy: tips for navigating the rocky economic landscape," elsewhere in this issue of DominoPower. In it, he lists a number of useful job sites and suggests one way to stay ahead of the game is to line up work for the next 90 days, even if you're currently on assignment.

Towards that end, I'd like to point out an extremely useful job search site. May's DominoPower Site of the Month is dice.com at http://www.dice.com, an online Information Technology job board that lists a variety of high tech permanent, contract, and consulting jobs. It's pictured in Figure A.

At the time of this writing, dice.com has 83,621 jobs listed. I did a quick search using the term "Lotus Notes" and turned up 1,391 entries. A search for "Domino" turned up 422. The fact is, there's a lot of work out there. It's just a matter of finding it. Great sites like dice.com are bringing employers and job seekers together.

If you readers know of any other great job search sites for Notes and Domino professionals, please click the link below and post them on the DominoPower PowerBoards.
