<p>CSU Channel Islands has received a $300,000 grant for its California Institute for Social Business.</p><p>The grant comes from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, which supported the institute's founding in 2010. Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and founder of the Grameen Bank, also collaborated in creating the institute, which is part of the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics.</p><p>The institute offers classes and does research in social business, which seeks to solve problems such as hunger and poverty while generating profits.</p><p>It is also advising local nonprofit groups, including Neighborhoods for Learning and the Community Gardens in Oxnard.</p><p><a href="http://www.vcstar.com/news/2014/mar/03/csu-channel-islands-gets-grant-for-its-social/">Keep reading...</a></p>
