<p>US based IT systems integrator Emtec has begun its India operation by setting up a new technology centre in Pune.</p><p>The company is focused on services including application development, packaged application, infrastructure, cloud and consulting. It has recently acquired Bangalore based IT firm Covelix.</p><p>"This significantly increases our ability to deliver cost-effective solutions to our clients through an optimum mix of off-shore and on-shore delivery and makes Emtec more competitive in our selected markets. In addition, the new Emtec development center in Pune gives us strengths in one of the premier IT development regions in India," said Dinesh Desai, Chairman, CEO & president, Emtec.</p><p>However, it has not disclosed the financial investments details. Emtec's current improvements in infrastructure will enable it to grow into a major global systems integrator and double in size over the next five years.
